Located at Palisades Highland Plaza near the bottom of Palisades Drive at Sunset Boulevard, the luxury boutique spa features luxurious private treatment rooms, calming music, a beautiful retail space, and soft minimalistic decor.

The spa menu includes Ayurvedic treatments, rejuvenating massages and body treatments, holistic facials, as well as a half-day spa package. Treatments can be customized with a variety of enhancements to suit guests’ individual needs, and are provided by the spa’s team of highly-trained and experienced therapists. F

Sanctuary Spa at The Palisades opened its doors a month prior to the Palisades Fire and plans to reopen its doors in Summer 2025. Owners Jeffrey and Racquel Jacobs look forward to providing the community with a space for relaxation and healing once again, and are committed to supporting others throughout the process of healing and rebuilding.

“After the Palisades fires, we look forward to reopening this summer and providing a place of solace, comfort, and relaxation to our Palisades neighbors and hopefully the support of special guests well beyond the Palisades area,” says Racquel Jacobs, Co-Owner of Sanctuary Spa at The Palisades.

We chatted with Jacobs, who shared more information about the spa’s amenities, treatments to try, and more.

The peaceful oasis features a chic, minimalist design that relaxes guests the moment they enter the spa.

Why You’ll Love It: The moment a guest walks into the spa, they love the serene and relaxed environment, which immediately allows them to melt into a calming and relaxing state, amplifying our guest’s spa experience.

Guests love the warm welcome from our front desk staff, the Roman Clay walls with a warm thematic color, and the unique domed lobby and hallway architecture designed to enhance the guest experience and bring them into another level of relaxation.

Key Features: We are a small luxury boutique spa. Although we don’t have enough space to have hot tubs or saunas, we wanted to create a mini-resort spa experience without customers having to travel to a resort, and to offer this convenience and experience to meet the needs of our guest’s busy life schedule.

As a specialty, our body scrubs and body wraps, as well as Sanctuary Platinum Experience treatments, include a luxurious eucalyptus steam shower.

Insider Tip: Unlike many larger establishments, our therapists go through extensive personalized training focusing on our signature facial and massage treatments.

Bonus: All guests are served bottled Icelandic water, and all our treatment rooms have incredible SONOS sound to complement our guests’ spa experience.

Snacks Served: We serve bottled Icelandic water to all guests; we do provide organic tea and fresh baked pastries from our local bakery to our guests who choose our Platinum Spa Experience treatments.

The spa menu offers immersive and sensory treatments that are designed to relax and unwind.

Splurge Treatment: The Sanctuary Platinum Spa Experience is our ultimate splurge. It provides three hours of extended pampering that includes a 15-minute eucalyptus steam followed by a 60-minute Signature Massage with a choice of enhancement.

After the massage, guests enjoy a 15-minute break with a beverage and pastries from K Bakery, then a 30-minute Pineapple-Papaya Saltmousse Body Scrub treatment, followed by a cleansing shower and application of the Papaya-Pineapple body balm.

Finally, guests will love finishing off the day with a 60-minute HydraSoothe Signature Facial.

Ayurvedic treatments are also offered on the spa menu and each treatment can be customized with a variety of enhancements.

Insider’s Favorite: All the treatments in the spa are my favorites because each treatment is nourishing to the mind, body, and spirit in its own special way.

For example, when I am mentally burned out, I prefer an Abhyanga Massage or our Sanctuary Palisades Restorative Massage, both of which induce better sleep and deeper relaxation.

When guests are looking for something fun and relaxing to do with their spouse or significant other, they love the Couples Massage in our special Couples Massage Room.

Guests who book body scrubs, body wraps or Sanctuary Platinum Experience treatments also enjoy a luxurious eucalyptus steam shower.

Most Unique Treatment: Our most unique treatment is the Abhyanga Massage. This is a traditional Ayurvedic massage treatment that nourishes the skin, reduces muscle stiffness, and promotes deep relaxation through the continuous pouring of warm organic sesame oil from the scalp all the way down to the soles of your feet in a rhythmic massage by one (two-hands) or two (four-hands) massage therapists.

In the luxurious Couples Massage Room, guests can enjoy side-by-side treatments together.
