When was Topical Skin founded and what does the name mean?

Topical Skin was founded in 2023. The name "Topical Skin" refers to the brand's focus on topical skincare products designed to improve skin health and appearance harnessing the power of proven actives and newest biotech.

What inspired the creation of your brand?

I was motivated by my extensive experience in the professional beauty industry and my passion for science-backed skincare. My aim was to create a brand that combined dermatological rigor with clean beauty principles, focusing on effective, multi-tasking products that cater to sensitive skin.

My inspiration also stemmed from my background in working with dermatologists, cosmetic chemists, and R&D teams, as well as my interest in biohacking and Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a self-described "science and ingredient geek," I spend hours on PubMed and employ a pharmaceutical-like approach to skincare formulations. This geeky obsession with constantly discovering and learning about new scientific advancements drives me to incorporate these findings into Topical Skin formulations.

I particularly love our Hydrating Facial Cleanser for its unique formulation and gentle yet effective cleansing properties. Even though it's 'just' a cleanser, it was honestly the most complex product to develop, requiring many prototypes.

I wanted to create something that not only effectively removes dirt, makeup, and impurities but also supports the skin's barrier and leaves the complexion feeling hydrated and refreshed. Here’s what makes our Hydrating Facial Cleanser stand out:

As we look to the future, I'm excited about the potential for growth and innovation in the skincare industry. We're seeing a shift towards intentional, results-driven routines, aligning with the broader quiet luxury movement. I admire her entrepreneurial mindset, forward-thinking approach, and dedication to helping women feel more beautiful through science-driven skincare. Rubinstein's legacy continues to inspire my own approach to skincare innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dermatologists, Estheticians, and Skincare Professionals. I also find inspiration in the expertise of dermatologists and skincare professionals. I value their input and incorporate their feedback into my product development process. This collaboration ensures that Topical Skin products are not only innovative but also endorsed by true skincare experts, which is crucial for building trust with our customers.
Traditional Chinese Medicine and Nature. Additionally, I find inspiration in Traditional Chinese medicine and natural ingredients. I integrate botanicals and herbs into Topical Skin formulations to create skincare solutions with a holistic approach that promotes overall wellness.

Perseverance has been key to my success. Despite facing challenges in my early career, including rigid corporate structures and limited mentorship opportunities, I persevered and used these experiences to fuel my entrepreneurial journey. These obstacles only strengthened my resolve and taught me valuable lessons that I apply to my business today.
