Sway by Spavia: A Modern Wellness Club That Redefines the Spa Experience in Denver, Colorado
Sway by Spavia is a modern wellness club in Denver, Colorado.
Denver’s latest and most refreshing wellness destination, Sway by Spavia,, is a spa and members club focused on redefining the spa experience.
Sway is the first of its kind, emphasizing quality in a combination of a facial bar, massage studio, and rejuvenation space with high-tech offerings (and a membership model focused on affordability).
It’s straightforward and to the point—giving you what you really need, without the fluff or extra distractions.
When I first visited Sway, I thought their membership pricing was actually too good to be true. $99 per month for one massage or facial? And unlimited access to their “membership lounge” (as well as invites to members-only events which feels like building a community of like-minded individuals in Denver who are prioritizing their wellness). No way!
But it wasn’t too good to be true—it’s exactly what it sounds like. As a Denver local, I was incredibly enthusiastic about this wellness space opening because, from my experience living here, there’s nothing else like this in the area.
Sway draws from cultural hubs like Barcelona and NYC to offer a fresh, modern wellness experience.
Sway was created by the visionaries behind Spavia Day Spa—and serves as a facial bar, massage studio, and remedy room area with the latest relaxation technology. It operates as a membership model and walk-in day spa.
The space offers a variety of massage offerings including deep tissue, CBD, salt stone, and sports massages. For facials, choose between treatments such as the specialized 'Forever Young' facial for anti-aging, the 'Pore Perfection' for acne-prone skin, the 'Glow Getter' for hydration, and the ‘Sensitive Silk’ to reduce redness.
Immediately after you step through the doors of this historic space in Larimer Square, a storied district of downtown Denver, you feel like you're taking a deep breath of fresh air.
The large windows in the lobby space let in plentiful natural sunlight and the soothing color scheme of white and green make the space feel fresh and airy.
The design and decor creates a well-curated balance of an energizing and relaxing atmosphere. There’s also plenty of live greenery (reinforcing the brand's color and the purposeful use of movement in design to create a memorable feeling and experience).
Sway is focused on making wellness accessible, innovative, and reflective of city lifestyle.
Why You’ll Love It: This spot is accessible and affordable and can serve as a perfect indulgence for a short treatment or a more extended day of investing in relaxation.
It’s right downtown—walkable to many of Denver’s other landmarks, such as Denver Union Station (meaning easily accessible by public transit), and the membership offerings aren’t out of reach for the modern wellness-focused Coloradan or visitor to the area. It’s like a little nondescript oasis in bustling downtown Denver.
Sway’s extensive retail area carries a wide variety of wellness and self-care products.
Key Features: Sway is overseen by an intimate group of estheticians and massage therapists who interact with you regularly as members and care about you as a person, prioritizing your unique wellness needs.
Everything feels very upscale but also “hands-off”—as in, you can relax in your own way without being coddled if you need some space.
The “member's lounge” upstairs is a private loft space where you can spend time before your treatment, drinking tea and unwinding with a book. The white walls and soft textures of the furnishings make it feel like a bohemian beach house mixed with an enchanted forest. I could stay in this space all day.
Sway offers three different membership options that feature exclusive perks and pricing.
Snacks Served: The member’s lounge upstairs features jars of trail mix, chocolate-covered almonds, and chocolate-covered raisins to help yourself. There’s also spa water and various hot tea bag options.
Bonus: The “Remedy Room” area is open to book for $49 per session as a non-member drop-in rate, and $25 per session for members and their guests. You’ll get 40 minutes total to experience the “Remedy Technology” (which you can tailor to your personal needs).
For example, you don’t have to do the cold plunge for the entire suggested five minutes), but you will get a maximum of 15 minutes in the Normatec + LED Light Therapy by LightStim, 20 minutes in the traditional sauna, and 5 minutes in the Cold Plunge. This room also has Normatec Lymphatic Compression by Hyperice boots to use to your liking.
As someone incredibly active, the Remedy Room feels like a great space for me to rejuvenate mentally and physically after a strenuous exercise session (or to recover mentally after a tough week).
Insider Tip: Members enjoy unlimited access to the “member lounge” loft area, which has snacks, tea, and compression boots. It’s a lovely space to sit and relax.
I love to pop in on an afternoon and take a few deep breaths while using the Normatec Lymphatic Compression boots after a weekend of strenuous exercise like skiing or hiking.
I feel like the boots decrease the inflammation in my legs and speed up my recovery time, and I love that they’re accessible to members in the lounge at all times.
Splurge Treatment: Add a “boost” to your treatment to create a super-healing experience.
For massages, boosts include adding an Infrared PEMF Mat, which “mimics the healing vibrations of the Earth, enhancing the body's natural recovery process, reducing inflammation, increasing energy, relieving stress, and promoting deeper sleep.”
Other massage boosts include cupping or extending your treatment time to 80 minutes.
For facials, splurge on a boost or super boost, such as a “Microcurrent” add-on, which tones and lifts the skin by stimulating facial muscles and collagen production.
Other “boost” choices include oxygen infusion boosts, LED light therapy, and specially formulated chemical peels.
Sway blends innovative technology with traditional treatments to enhance well-being.
Most Unique Treatment: Aescape is a modern combination of technology and tradition, allowing you to personalize every element of your massage treatment, from pressure to potential visual displays on the screen before you.
It’s a robot powered by machine learning, meaning it remembers the settings you choose each time and adapts your treatments based on your experiences in previous sessions.
It might sound intimidating to those who have never been massaged by a robot before, but the technician told me the most exciting part of this treatment is how the robot learns more about how to appeal to each individual person’s needs every time it gives them a massage. It’s only going to keep getting better and better.
Insider’s Favorite: One of my favorite elements of getting a massage at Sway Wellness Club is choosing the scent I want to use during my treatment. Sway uses lotion products by Pure Fiji, and each one smells delightful.
Featured Products: Sway is partnered with Eminence Organic Skin Care, which is renowned for its effective organic skincare products.
