When I was invited to visit Ocean Pearl Spa at The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, I happily said yes. Between the coastal location, the spa’s eco-conscious philosophy, and a signature treatment that caught my eye, it felt like the perfect opportunity to slow down and recharge.

After a full day immersed in kid-centered fun at nearby LEGOLAND, I was more than ready for some peaceful, grown-up time—and Ocean Pearl Spa delivered.
Set within the Westin property and just a short drive from the ocean, Ocean Pearl Spa offers a calm, understated atmosphere with California character.
Retro-inspired wall art and a focus on marine-based botanicals give the space a unique sense of place. The overall vibe is approachable, warm, and wellness-forward.

After checking in, I changed into a comfortable robe and took a moment to unwind in the spa’s private quiet lounge.
The space was peaceful, with soft lighting and infused water—an ideal setting to ease into the experience and leave the to-do list behind. I sipped on some tea and enjoyed a few moments of quiet time and reading.

The Journey to Remember
After several days of travel—with young kids in tow—I was especially eager for something that would help me fully unwind.
I received the Journey to Remember body treatment (an 80-minute service priced at $360) and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for deep relaxation with thoughtful benefits.
The treatment incorporates a gentle sugar-based scrub and nourishing prickly pear oil, but what really sets it apart is a special CBD layering technique.
Tea tastes better when you’re swaddled in a spa robe and have zero responsibilities.
CBD is used throughout the massage to help alleviate muscle tension and everyday aches, while hydrating botanicals leave your skin feeling refreshed and restored.
Combined with soothing aromatherapy and a face-focused hydration ritual, it’s a full-body experience that helps quiet the mind and calm the body. My therapist was kind and intuitive, creating a space that felt comfortable and truly restorative.
By the end of the service, I felt completely at ease—my body had entered a state of deep relaxation that lingered well into the day.

Afterward, I took my time enjoying the spa’s amenities, including a refreshing eucalyptus steam and a rinse in the vitamin C–infused showers.
The locker area was thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials—from hairdryers and brushes to styling products—which made it easy to get ready and feel polished before leaving.
